Technology

These days there are many innovations that go on every day. there are seemingly more and more people that have ideas and share them across the world. they can do what others in the past can't they can share ideas within a matter of minutes and the flow of information goes both ways. Its become so connected that you can feel closer to a person a hundred miles away then to a person that sits in the same room as you. this is because of a certain thing that we call technology. I've heard a certain quote that might have gone along the lines of "Size matters not. Look at it. Judge it by my size, do you? Hmm? Hmm. And well you should not. For my ally is the technology, and a powerful ally it is. We create it, makes it grow. It has signals that surrounds us and binds us together."

Class Evaluation

1. To list a few things I like about this class I would have to list first that I like that most about it is the creative side of it . In this class we where allowed to explore many of my experiences in the from of a blog. We where allowed to write how we feel. We where allowed to share our experiences. Finally but not the least we where given tips and advice on how to live our lifes. We where given tips on why we should do these things. and this class even gave me tips on how to meet new people.

2. All though there were many things I liked about this class no class is perfect. in this class one of the only things that bothered me was the little free time we where allowed to have. although it is not a big problem i would have liked to have more of it. another thing that bothered me was the lack of time i felt i had to work on our daily post. i had trouble finding the time to write a fitting reflection for them. other than that i thought that the class was great and showed me many things.

3. I think that this class in order to improve needs the find a ways to make time more manageable. i would like for there to be more time for our reflections. I think this class could also have given us more time on our research for medical universities we were interested in.

4. The highlight for me in this class was learning to computer program (which came surprisingly late in the year). I thought that learning html in this class was the best. This is because I actually learned and understood the material. This stood out for me because I enjoyed learning about how html worked.

5. I think I did do my best in this class but there was times where I was lacking creativeness. I think my lack of creativeness was due towards having this class in the mourning but other than those rare times I did my best and did everything as I was told. So in the end I think that i did my best in this class.

6. in this class i was also instructed to keep a journal called a life planing journal which I was to write in it goals and things that I wanted to accomplish. I was also instructed to write a section in it called sharpen the saw where I wrote down things that I could do in order to reflect on my self. in this part of the class i did as i was told and

character and personality

Character and Personality

In this video Stephen R. Covey first tells us why he started his research. He tells us that he started his research many years ago and through out his research he saw a pattern where for the first 120 years the books he read where mainly focused on how to be something, rather then how to appear to do something, which according to what his research says changed after those 120 years. he then continues to tell us this thoughts on it and explains to us why he thinks this is wrong. He thinks that we should build a foundation on trust and work our way from there. he also says that we should work on being good from the inside out. and that is how he came about his 7 habits of highly effective people.

Six ways to make people like you. If you want people to like you......

Rule 1: become genuinely interested in other people.

1) "Do this and you will be welcome anywhere."

2) "you can make more friends in two months by becoming interested in other people than you cam on two years by trying to get other people interested in you."

3) "ask questions to other people, questions that they would enjoy answering.".

      Reflection:

      Rule 2: Smile

1) "Actions speak louder than words, and a smile says, "I like you. You make me happy. I am glad to see you."

2) "You dont feel like smiling? Then force your self to smile.

3) "It creates happiness in the home, fosters good will in a business, and is the countersign (witness or indication) of friends."

Reflection:  When you smile you can brighten others days. It can help you feel less gloomy. Just smiling can really make others like you more because if you spend all day looking sad then others start feeling sad to. Your sadness passes on to the next person. If you want friends then you need to smile to show others that your happy to see then or content that your there. Some people say they don't feel like smiling, those people are saying that they are unwilling to smile, they are saying it is not worth it to smile. If they dont feel like smiling then they also dont feel like making new friends. people don't like someone who wont smile.

     Rule 3: Remember Names

1) "A man's name is to him the sweetest and most important sound in my language."

2) "if you don't remember names, you are heading for trouble."

Reflection: Remembering names is important it saw people who you meet recently that you took the to remember their names. it can show them that you at least cared to remember it. but not only can it show them that you care it can show them that you have a good memory, to learn their names so quickly. so remembering names is much more than knowing names it shows that you bothered to learn it.

Rule 4: Be a good listener. Encourage others to talk about themselves.

1) "If you aspire to be a good conversationalist, be an  attentive listener."

2) "Remember that the man you are talking to is a hundred times more interested in himself and wants his problems them he is in you and your problems."

Reflection: being a good listener is more than hearing the word that come out your friends mouth. its about understanding too. listening and responding to them is important it shows you care and will make them think that your someone who they and trust or they can talk to. talking isn't always about you people have other int rest and their likes and their dislikes. they have their own lifes and they'd like to talk about.

Rule 5: Talk in terms of the other mans interest.

"The royal road to a man's heart is to talk to him about the things he treasures most."

Reflection: In a conversation there are many things to talk about. depending on the person they can be open and talk about what they like or they can be closed and not talk about it. you have to keep this in mind and find out their interest. show them that you like to hear what they are talking about. find out what they like the most and bring it up so they'll be stunned and be your friend.

Rule 6: Make the other person feel important--and do it sincerely.

"The desire to be important is the deepest urge in the human nature."(John Dewey)"Helping people feel important and appreciated works magic."

Reflection: Rule number 6 in the "Six ways to make people like you"is to make the other person feel important--and do it sincerely. This means that to make someone like you you must make them feel important. There are many ways you can do this but the better way to do this is to honestly mean it. You can say that someone is important to you but if you didn't truly mean it then you wouldn't be doing anyone good.
